REGENERATION
I spent the first part of my career changing minds.
Then I became interested in
changing conditions.
Regeneration isn’t a design aesthetic. It’s a way of seeing potential — in homes, land, systems, and ultimately, how we choose to live.
The question underneath the work is simple: what conditions allow life to flourish?
REGENERATIVE DESIGN · LOS ALAMOS HERITAGE HOUSE
Home.
An old house does not need to be made new. It needs to be listened to.
Across nearly 30 years and 12 homes, Jen has developed an instinct for beginning with what is already there — architecture, history, materials, imperfections and the life a place has already held. Rather than impose a trend, she listens for the inherent spirit of a place and creates the conditions for it to become more fully itself.
FEATURED PROJECT · LOS ALAMOS HERITAGE HOUSE
An 1882 pioneer home restored through stewardship, reuse, local craftsmanship and respect for its past — then returned to active life as a place for hospitality, weddings, dinners, retreats and community.
ANAVO FARM · REGENERATIVE FARM & NONPROFIT
Land.
What if the answers we’re looking for are already under our feet?
Years after first writing the word Anavo — harmony — in a journal in Ireland, Jen found herself on six depleted acres in California’s Santa Ynez Valley. What began as home became an experiment in participation: soil, compost, rescue animals, food, biodiversity and the rhythms of a living system.
Anavo is not presented as a perfect model. It is a living laboratory — a place to touch, tend and test regenerative ideas in real life. Practiced, not preached.
THE HUMAN SIDE OF REGENERATION
Life.
The forms keep changing. The instinct doesn’t.
After building a life in media and ideas, Jen wanted her hands back in the physical world. She pushed west. In Montana, somewhere between horses, mountains and getting closer to the land, she recognized something she hadn’t realized she’d been missing: she felt at home.
That return became a larger inquiry — not only how we regenerate soil or old homes, but how we create lives with more connection, embodiment, freedom and aliveness. This is where motherhood, animals, horses, reinvention and rebellion belong: not as separate themes, but as evidence of a life increasingly lived in alignment with the same instinct.
Connection itself can be regenerative.
